Dean has teamed up
with Jay Wolf for gun dog training. Jay has been hunting and
training bird dogs for the foot hunter since 1995. He is a North
Dakota native and has hunted the Dakota prairies for wild pheasant,
sharptail grouse and Hungarian Partridge. These wild birds will
test even the most seasoned bird dog. Jay knows the habits of
these wily birds and how to bring the best out of your bird dog to
handle them.The gun dog training
program consists of starting young dogs on recall quail using Johnny
Houses. This is a great way to introduce young dogs to birds and to
guns. The early training takes place in Texas, from December though
March. The next step is training mostly on wild b irds at the North
Dakota camp where Dean has access to abundant training grounds with
wild birds. The dogs in training will hunt wild birds during the North
Dakota hunting season (September - December).

We have openings for several bird dog prospects starting
in September.
